“… for the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me and have believed that I came forth from the Father.”John 16:27 NASBS
Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.John 20;29 NIV
The other day I had a sense of how proud the Father is of us who believe and yet see so little.
Very few of us can claim to have had angelic visitation or had Jesus appear to them giving them instructions and revelation. Very few get dreams that show the way and yet we believe Him.
We base life-changing descisions sometimes on a whisper in our spirit, a still small voice, a Rhema word from the Bible. And then He confirms that word with signs and miracles.
Most of the time we do not see the spiritual world around us, we only have His Word to guide us and the Spirit’s voice in our ears. And yet we believe and some believers have gone on and changed an entire nation based on that.
For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.1 Corinthians 13:12 New International Version (NIV)
Sometimes we can get it wrong thinking we have heard from God and seemingly fail spectacularly. I have learned however that as the Bible says, everything works together for good for those who love God (Rom 8:28.) Loving God being the important condition for this promise to be fulfilled.
Even when we think we made a mistake and heard wrongly or felt led wrongly, still, if we love Him and seek His face and allow His Holy Spirit to guide us and to reveal to us what is really going on then He will lead us into all truth (John 16:13). He can show us if we need to repent for having been proud or full of our own strength or too self-reliant with little accountability etc. Once we see this, we become a better version of ourselves in God. And then indeed, our mistakes or failures will have worked for good for us!
He is proud of us when we, in spite of not seeing Him clearly, can live by faith clinging to His Word as our guiding light, gently being blown forward by His Breath, the Holy Spirit (Hebrew word for spirit is Ruah (breath) and in Greek it’s pneuma (air, wind or breath))
For those who truly seek Him and His guidance I can testify that He does reveal His will and He does give clear directions. I have been amazed at how detailed His guidance can be when He speaks (through a still small voice, prophecy, dreams or visions etc)
So, if you’ve made it so far in God having been guided by Him, well done, give yourself a pat on your back. He’s proud of you.
If you’ve made a mistake in hearing God or you wonder if you have, great! This will now be an opportunity for greatness to be formed in you when you keep loving Him and learn from what you are going through which will propel you to the next level!
Either way, He’s proud of you if you are still clinging to Him and loving Him in spite of everything that’s going on.
