Quick Personal News
I have some exciting news to share.
For a while now I have been aware that God was calling me to dedicate all my time to the ministry. This year however it started to intensify. The Lord was speaking to me from every direction so I decided to obey when all the confirmations I asked for were aligned. Leaving a fantastic career and the security of regular income behind isn’t always easy but when God says to do it, it is!
So, I have stepped out of the boat today and am walking on water with Jesus and it is feeling pretty awesome.
I can now dedicate more time to pastoring and mentoring disciples I have in various places. I will be able to write so much more now on this blog which is something I have been wanting to do but time was in short supply when working full time and ministering to people in your spare time.
September 2019 – Ministry in the US
In a few weeks I will be ministering in San Francisco, California. I will be teaching about understanding Godly principles so that we can align ourselves with the purposes of God and getting rid of the shackles of the enemy.
John 14:30 in the Amplified Bible says,
I will not talk with you much more, for the prince (evil genius, ruler) of the world is coming. And he has no claim on Me. [He has nothing in common with Me; there is nothing in Me that belongs to him, and he has no power over Me.]Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC) Copyright © 1954, 1958, 1962, 1964, 1965, 1987 by The Lockman Foundation
I love that! When Jesus said that the enemy has no claim on Him that is what He meant – that there is nothing in Jesus that the devil can exploit, there is nothing in common with the devil in Jesus, that there is nothing that belongs to the kingdom of the enemy in Jesus – THEREFORE the devil has no power over Jesus.
It is pretty clear that that is where many go wrong in their Christian life. They don’t see that there are things in their hearts, minds, lifestyle that belong to the devil and that is why they are losing the battle in their lives with financial troubles, unbelieving and/or rebelious children, sickness, broken relationships, tragedies. These defeats are often meant to be alarm bells indicating that something is wrong somewhere.
Joshua in the OT understood this when Israel experienced terrible defeat at Ai (see Joshua 7:5) . The LORD had promised them victory and blessings and yet here they are experiencing terrible defeat.
Note Joshua’s reaction – unlike many of us Christians who would say “Blessed be the Lord! He is testing me. I will lie down and die and trust in Him! It is His will!”
No, look at how he reacted:
Then Joshua tore his clothes and fell facedown to the ground before the ark of the Lord, remaining there till evening. The elders of Israel did the same, and sprinkled dust on their heads. 7 And Joshua said, “Alas, Sovereign Lord, … The Canaanites and the other people of the country will hear about this and they will surround us and wipe out our name from the earth. What then will you do for your own great name?”
Basically, he’s saying: “God, you promised victory and yet we’ve experienced defeat … WHAT’S GONE WRONG?”
And the Lord gave him understanding and details of what to do (basically, someone in the congregation sinned and that had brought defeat for all – what a spiritual lesson that many churches would benefit from!)
We need understanding of how the spiritual world operates. How God works. Then we can align ourselves with God’s ways and become prosperous in every area in our lives.
I will be teaching on this subject and more in my conferences and will share some of this here as well.
Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers. – 3 John 1:2
